Arsenal 1-1 Leeds; Captain Fabulous to the rescue

Morning all

Well yesterday was a strange game.

When seeing the line up, I was very confident. It didn't matter who the opposition were, that team was surely good enough to beat the majority of teams in the country. Well, it didn't turn out that way.

As expected, alot of changes were made from Wednesday. Maybe again too many changes. The players came in we're either coming back to full fitness or finding form. It was hard for them to combine and maybe we have to take this into account for a timid showing. It was the introduction of Theo and Cesc that rescued us.

We started sloppy and never really recovered in truth. Arshavin was willing but his passing never really found its range. A great through ball by Rosicky saw Arshavin clean through on goal. An Arshavin firing on all cylinders would of buried that, no doubt. But he stabbed his effort straight at the mighty impressive Peter Kasper Schmeichel. Chamakh seems to be tiring out and maybe the return of Robin van Persie will reinvigorate his form of the first half of the season. Up front we lacked genuine pace and we struggled to break down a sturdy Leeds defence.

Start of the second half we started brightly, yet it was Leeds who took the lead. Gradel went on a wonderful run and cut inside Denilson, who should of let him past, instead he decided to chop him down and concede a stonewall penalty. It was a stupid mistake. Denilson was completely done and he had a strange game. He does have ability, he tested the keeper a few times but his passing was sloppy. I'm a fan of his but he needs to raise his game on more than one occasion. Up stepped Snodgrass to fire home the penalty, the kick too strong for Chesney.

A huge sense of panic now entered the Emirates. Each misplaced pass was met with groans. To be honest, I couldn't see us scoring. We lacked cutting edge. Enter Cesc Fabregas. Straight away his class shone. His touch was impeccable and within a minute of coming on, two passes from him set us on the attack.

Now I like  Rosicky but I don't see him being good enough in the Cesc roll. Along side Cesc he is great, but he's not good enough to make that role his own. Maybe I'm being harsh but that is my opinion.

The last couple of minutes of the match were incredible. Penalty, no penalty, penalty. Strange turn of events. I thought the first penalty was nailed on, the second was soft. It was because the first one was so nailed on, yet given offside, that the second one was given. Up stepped Cesc and smashed the ball home. Whoever questions his commitment to our club needs their head checked. Quite simply a class act.

Theo Walcott. Well, I admire your honesty. Maybe you shouldn't have spoken out, but admitting to diving, shows maybe you are a class act. He quite rightly will receive criticism, but how many people admit to it. Yes, I'm focusing on you Gerrard. And you Rooney. And Defoe. And so on.

And also a word on El-Hadji Diouf. A double broken leg saw QPR striker Jamie Mackie squirming on the floor. Instead of console the striker, the despicable cunt taunts the player. I think I speak for all when I hope El-Hadji Diouf a painful career ending injury. What a loss to football that would be!

Thanks for reading, that's it for today. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
