The Joy of Cesc

I've been planning this article for some time now, but amidst the summer of speculation, I have postponed until I felt the right time had come.

The topic at hand is Cesc Fabregas.

The Joy of Cesc
Many were frustrated over the summer, the lack of noise from Cesc Fabregas in particular signalled his intent on joining Barcelona. My views of that is he wasn't pushing for a move away from Arsenal, just a move to Barcelona. Which, from his background and personal tie ins with Catalonia, is completely understandable. How Barcelona value Cesc at £30 million is beyond laughable. This lad has it all. He really does.

Cesc, although disappointed, has stayed dignified throughout the summer. He has knuckled down although initially slow to begin with, has really come into his own the past two games. Against Bolton, some of his passing was out of this world. Last night, he showed himself to be the Cesc we all know and love.

Many pundits question whether Cesc would get into the Barcelona team. For me, that is not an issue. Xavi over Cesc? Iniesta before Cesc? Never in my eyes. What we have here is something I've never seen before. A couple of seasons ago, the main weakness of Fabregas' play was scoring goals. Now, he's added that to his locker.

His father figure, Arsene Wenger, deserves huge credit. He plucked the young lad from Barcelona at 16 years old, and seven years on, has created a magnificent team complimenting him. For Cesc to become talisman, captain, inspiration and leader of this team is nothing short of brilliant.

Leaving for Barcelona next season is not a foregone conclusion. If we show him the appreciation, as has happened so far this season, we could really it difficult for Cesc to leave. When the day comes that Fabregas does decide to leave for pastures new, I hope all gooners understand what Cesc has given us. In my lifetime as a gooner, I've seen nothing like him. He is a magician, master of the pass. Put him in the ''holding midfield role'' and he will still have an outstanding game.

So, if this is Cesc' last season donning the red and white shirt, let's make it memorable. It's the least he deserves.

Thank's for your time.
