The snow up here is absolutely crazy. The only place to go in such conditions are the pub. Who'd have thought it!?
So last night, we were drawn the easiest possible draw in the Carling Cup, Ipswich Town. With the first leg at Portman Road.
Now, it seems like someone upstairs (heaven, not my house!) are urging us on to win the Cup. How else would you explain spankings handed out to Tottenham, Man United and Chelsea. I know we must respect Ipswich Town, but they have Roy Keane in charge. So fuck it! They are bottom end of the Championship, not really daunting.
What I do wonder is will Cesc play a part in the Semi Finals, and then Finals. It's important he is part of a trophy winning team, as he is the leader of the team. I'll leave it into the hands of Wenger, he seems to know what he is doing. He's got us this far, and I firmly believe he will lift his first trophy in the new Wembley.
Winning the Carling Cup is huge. Many of us may be hypocrites in wanting to win, but sometimes outlooks change. It's vital this team get a trophy under their belts, to experience that winning feeling. And the timing of the Final sets us up perfectly for the remainder of the season.
It's also a treat for the fans. A trip out to Wembley, united with gooners up and down the country. So let's just go for it. Better yet, enjoy it!!

I do think that we need to calm down over the draw. yes they are a 'smaller' team but still, we have seen leads disappear in minutes. We beat newcastle 4-1 then lost 1-0. We beat the spuds then next game we lost (because they had bale and he is the best player in the entire world. ever. in the history of time).
ReplyDeleteI reckon we can win the game and get to the final but we should definitely not under estimate them. I don't care too much for omelette on my face.
We have been given a huge chance to show we can handle the pressure of reaching a final, which we havent had in a while. Getting there will give a huge amount of beleif to the fans and more importantly the team.
