Arsenal 2-1 Huddersfield Town; edgy display from the Gunners

Morning guys

Hope you's all had a good weekend. I'd like to think Arsenal and Tottenham both contributed to that.

My thoughts on the game. The line up was strong, although a few rusty players. Almunia, Squillaci and Diaby all returned. On the whole I thought Diaby was okay, Almunia had a terrific save and Squillaci got a red card. Arshavin again showed plenty of effort without the necessary end product. Gibbs looked very rusty. Denilson was poor whilst once again Cesc' class saved us. A mixed bag. But we won. And we're safely through to the next round where we will travel to Leyton Orient. Cracking tie.

The bad news is Samir Nasri suffered a groin injury, meaning he faces a race against time to be fit for the Barcelona game. Wish him a speedy recovery, we will certainly need him.

Likewise against Leeds, skipper Cesc Fabregas changed the game with his arrival. He is also a very cool and composed player from 18 yards.

What disappointed me was the whole flat feeling around the game. The fans nor the players were up for it. Credit to Huddersfield, I thought they gave a good account of themselves. And yeah, we were lucky to win, but least we didn't get bent over and lost 4-0, eh?

Today sees the closure of the transfer window. I don't know why but I'm still kinda excited. It will be interesting to see where the likes of Torres and Carroll end up. Have a sneaky feeling we will get a centre back though! And we will probably tie up a deal for the lad Oxlade-Chamberlain, who by the way looked impressive versus Man Utd on Saturday.

Sorry for the jumbled up blog, I'm keeping an eye on my Twitter timeline, BBC Football transfer window, the Young Guns live blog and Sky Sports News. Hectic!

Enjoy the rest of the day and thanks for your time

--- My source at the Emirates has just told me Lionel Messi has been spotted at London Colney!! MAKE OF THIS WHAT YOU WILL. HEH.
