Arsenal 2-0 Wolves; Brilliant performance is timely for Barcelona

A 2-0 scoreline really is as flattering as it can get for Wolves. From bits of the match I seen online and also the highlight packages, it was one way traffic throughout the 90 minutes.

We worked hard, and our energy levels were excellent and from that our free flowing football was in full force. We had to win the game, with the players knowing Manchester United edged out a win in the Manchester derby.

As always with the opposing keeper at the Emirates, he had a quality game. He denied Walcott numerous times, and also stopped van Persie, Arshavin, Song and Fabregas on occasion. The two goals which did beat Hennesey were simply awesome, for different reasons. The first one was all about the ability of our two star men, Cesc Fabregas and Robin van Persie. Cesc lofted in a lovely cross with his left foot that allowed van Persie to volley in with his right foot. A great goal. The second was a fantastic team goal, hitting Wolves on the counter. Cesc released Theo and no one had a chance of catching him. He then squared to van Persie to fire him. 10 goals in 7 now for Robin, just a scant reminder of the ability he has when fully fit. If only that was the case for the last three years. Makes you wonder if this trophy drought would already be over.

So 2-0 the final score, and a brilliant performance to go with it. We looked strong at the back, never in any real danger of conceding, and after last weeks collapse, a much needed confidence boost.

With every passing game, Jack Wilshere is stamping his mark on this Arsenal team. On Saturday, he was more like the Wilshere I always thought he would be. Driving runs, jinking past defenders. If only he would bloody shoot! I'm confident going into the Barca game with a midfield of Wilshere, Song and Fabregas. For me, by far the best in the league.

On Wednesday, it marks a great opportunity to see how far we've come. We have no real pressure, you'd have to say Barca are clear favourites so let's go out and show Europe what we're capable of.
