Morning all
So still no news on the confirmation of Sebastien Squillaci. Rumours tell us that the medical has been completed, just the paper work is all that is holding the deal up.
I believe we can call Squillaci an Arsenal player. In fact, i'd be very surprised if the deal wasn't official as of today. Monday for the medical, and yesterday being introduced to the media (Arsenal TV Online).
I firmly believe this to be a great signing. And with this deal all being wrapped up, and the CEO doing the paper work etc, it would not surprise me in the least to see Wenger move his sights on another defensive player, centre back or keeper. I've stated my preference of Juan over Ciani, but that doesn't mean I'd protest the signing of the centre back from Bordeaux. A keeper is sure fire to be coming in, and i'm of the opinion like many others on Twitter that if Schwarzer isn't the one coming in, then no other keeper will be signed. I've been wrong more times than right, but we shall see.
So it's Tottenham 1 Arsenal 0 so far is it 'arry. Get a grip you twitchy prick! Arsene wanted to keep Gallas, i'm sure. But on his own terms. As back up to the first choice defenders. Wenger has already stated that he chased Koscielny over the summer instead of pursuing his contract offer for Gallas. So Mr Redknapp, enjoy having a disruptive Gallas for 6-7 months until he gets his annual groin injury and begins whoring himself around the world, to the 3rd tier elite of Europe. Panathinaikos rejected his services, do I need a punchline!?
Moving on, and alot has been made of Jack Wilshere in the under 21's. I feel that was the plan all along. You didn't expect Capello to blood the youngsters in straight away. For once, I agree with what Capello has done here. After all, Jack the lad is getting more valuable game time rather than sit on the bench with the first team.
Kieran Gibbs has been omitted from the Under 21's, so he should stay with the National team as understudy to that prick from Chelsea. You know, him. And also a well done to Henri Lansbury for getting a call up to the Under 21's. A loan to Swansea seems imminent, and whatever Brendan Rodgers has to say on the matter, I believe he has a bright future ahead of him.
That's a wrap for today folks. Hopefully see you in the comments or on twitter!
