Afternoon folks
So Spurs won last night, giving them a shot of Champions League glory.. Now we will see the strength of their squad. Out of Europe and playing catch up in the league? You betcha!
I watched the game last night, and couldn't believe the commentators. Jermain Defoe's blatant handball helped Tottenham on their way. A bit of cheating. Cause that is exactly what it was. Cheating. Now, I'm not bitter at all. But to see Eduardo get destroyed, pushed out of the country for ''cheating'', and Henry ridiculed worldwide for his part in Irish elimination of the World Cup, why has Defoe gotten away with it. Pot kettle black springs to mind with the media, the same media who I feel are to blame for the downfall of the national team.
Anyways, on to the Arse.
Once again, we are in pot 1, and to be honest, the only team I want to avoid is Real Madrid. I believe we would beat them, but I can't be arsed with that cunt Mourinho spouting his shit, and the media jizzing all over him. But besides them, we can beat all of the other teams put infront of us. (If we do draw Real Madrid, I apologize)
So, despite what I said yesterday, still no confirmation of the transfer of Squillaci. Despite the nay sayers, I believe this is a done deal. All that is holding this up, I hope, is another signing. To me, no news is good news, and this is the case regarding Fulham's no.1 Mark Schwarzer. Maybe a cheeky double signing on the way.
Having seen Steven Taylor put on the transfer list by his club Newcastle, I would love him to join Arsenal. Whilst he may not be everyone's favourite, he could be the back up player we need. I'm sure he would walk from St James to Emirates to join us. He's a strong defender, and his leadership is also handy to have. Added to the fact he has Premier League experience, then why not? He, is of course English too, so he can do no wrong in the media's eye, even when he drop kicks Drogba in the nuts :).
If we haven't signed a centre back before Saturday, then Laurent Koscielny will experience his first welcome to english football. From what I've seen of him, we've signed a cracker here. And on Saturday, I believe we will see what a physical defender he is also.
On a side note, just read that the Brazilian Diego has gone from Juventus to Werder Bremen. For £12 million. Unbelievable. Sami Khedira cost in the region of £10 million, and Mesut Ozil in the same region. The point I'm making here is one James Milner cost a combined £26 million (£18 million + Steven Ireland). Just goes to show how fucked up the English transfer market really is.
Please understand this blog showcases my opinion, I am not telling Arsene Wenger how to do his job :) but hey, isn't that what being a supporter is all about?
That's it for now people, will post after the Champions League draw (and the unveiling of Squillaci...!)
