I haven't posted in a while, as has been the hectic schedule I've had. Quite alot has gone on since my last post and I'll try get through most of it.
The good news is that 18 year old Jack Wilshere has signed a new contract. Great stuff. I believe we have yet to see the best of young Jack, and that only bodes well. The way he has came into the team and fitted in with ease has been extraordinary for a guy of his age. This kid really is the future of Arsenal and England, and dare I say it, future Arsenal captain.
We travelled to Donetsk minus Arshavin, Song, Denilson, Diaby, Ramsey, van Persie and Fabregas. I may have left others out too. I didn't catch the match last night, but saw the highlights. We didn't seem to be at the races, maybe Wilshere and Walcott shining, but the rest of the team didn't really sparkle. It was
As many has said, Clichy is unfortunate that when he makes a mistake, it is generally costly. My main concern is the competition put on Clichy. Gibbs is a terrific player, but can we rely on him week in week out. With all his little injuries, it seems a shame that we can't.
Again I was surprised Eastmond got his chance. With Lansbury impressing at the Lane, I was sure that would propel him into Arsenes thinking. But after receiving the lavishing praise from the gaffer, Lansbury has been distanced from the first team somewhat.
Benik Afobe has joined Huddersfield Town on loan. He seemed to make a good impression, and it's nice to see such a young talent going out on loan. I've heard alot of things about the striker, and I hope he turns into a Michael Owen/Ian Wright goalscorer. Thomas Cruise has also joined Carlisle on loan, and I would like to wish both youngsters all the best.
Now to the hype surrounding Gareth Bale. Let the Spuds have it. I have to admit, begrudgingly, he is some player. Which makes it all the more laughable that this will be Bales last season in the other half of North London. I can see Fergie eyeing him up as Giggys replacement.
I've just heard Robin van Persie has been called up for a meaningless friendly. What the actual fuck!? There must be some sort of rule where we can stop this happening!? What's the chances of him picking up another injury? About as high as Richard Keys nose up Gareth Bales arse!
Well thats about it today, will hopefully blog over the weekend!
Thanks for reading.
