Afternoon all
After the past two defeats, culminating in the timid display against Newcastle, we regained a little of the swagger last night. Beating Wolves at Molineux is no mean feat. I've seen highlights and we looked reasonably good. Most importantly, we won.
Rosicky and Arshavin replaced Theo and Nasri, and you'd have to say the boss got it right. For so long we've bemoaned the lack of early goals. Last night, we scored within 47 seconds of kick off. Can't really argue with that.
The goal came about with Rosicky feeding Alex Song down the right, who played an early cross onto the head of Marouane Chamakh. He duly headed home a superb header. What a start. We could of doubled our lead early on through Arshavin and Fabregas but the keeper produced some decent saves.
Wolves started to come into the game, and it needed and inspired performance from Fabianski to keep them at bay. Inspired. Not one of the words many fans thought would describle the Pole, but that was exactly what it was. Keepers make mistakes. It's how you bounce back from them which show your mettle. And Fabianski done it in style.
We wrapped the game up in the last minute of extra time, with a tidy little finish from our Moroccan target man. On nights like that, players like him need to step up, and he did just that. Also, he has a tidy little record of the longest gap in a Premier League game of scoring.
Much has been made of Fabregas' challenge. Yellow at the very most. Genuine attempt for the ball. If you compare that with Essiens two footed mini jump, well it seems rather soft doesn't it.
If you haven't seen JET's goal versus Everton reserves, go watch it! It really is something. If it was scored by a Ronaldo or a Messi, it would receive worldwide recognition.
So we have Everton on Sunday, more of the same last night please Arsenal!!
Have yourselves a good weekend and thanks for reading!
