Afternoon guys
Tonight, I'm sure you're aware, we face Ipswich in the second leg of the Carling Cup. The tie is finely poised at 1-0 to the Championship, and it's a great chance for the fans inside the Emirates to make a brilliant atmosphere. Because make no mistake, the crowd are going to need to be up for it.
Who cares if it's ''only the Carling Cup'', it was only the Carling Cup which Man Utd won to end their little drought back in 2006, and that didn't do them any harm at all. We are in the Semi Final, with a chance to go to the new Wembley for only the second time. To go out now would be absolutely devastating. Arsenal have won the League Cup just the once in my lifetime, and I would be delighted if they won it a second time this season.
Tonight will be the chance for us to show our mental strength and how we handle pressure. We are under pressure. The time to deliver for this team is now. We are hitting form at the perfect time, and reaching a final in the process will give these players the extra desire to win more games.
I am expecting a big performance tonight, purely due to what is at stake. These players will want to play in a Final, and whoever comes in has the chance to stake their place in the starting XI and also a chance to play at Wembley. If that isn't an incentive for these players, well then I really don't know what is.
I hope Wenger sends out a strong team. I hope Fabregas plays. As captain, these games are perfect for him to play him. If we press the opposition as we have done in recent weeks, I won't have any worries. If we perform to our capabilities, the difference in class will show (like at Elland Road).
Heard tonight is a sell out, hope the crowd are behind the boys. This time tomorrow, I hope to be looking forward to a trip to Wembley. COME ON YOU GOONERS!!
