Morning all
We are back in action tonight, this time to the hallowed turf of Elland Road.
What I find amusing is the claims of the Leeds players or staff claiming we will be frightened by the Leeds atmosphere. What are these geezers smoking? Do they not realise we go to places all over Europe, probably with more an atmosphere than that of Elland Road. Mind games.
Speaking of mind games, I heard the Leeds manager Simon Grayson call for Theo Walcott to be banned. Give it a rest! Theo owned up, held his hands up and acknowledge what he done was wrong. I hope those comments rile young Theo and he rams those words down Graysons fault in the shape of a hat trick.
Tonight really is a big game. I love the FA Cup. As I've said, I grew up with Arsenal contesting the Semi's or even the Final's of the Cup, and to be honest, I miss that. Top teams usually take their second chance, and I expect this game to be no different.
Players like Arshavin and Bendtner really do need to find their form. And sharp. With a backlog of fixtures, we can't just count on our first XI players to win games. Those who are given the chance need to hit the ground running, and show they are worthy to wear the shirt.
Another game, and we need another win. This Arsenal team are far too inconsistent for my liking. When they get it right, brilliant. When it's not going our way, tedious! Very tedious. Getting a run of games in which we win is what we need. It's easier said than done but once we get the momentum, we will take some stopping.
Been reading that the likes of Miquel or Ramsey could start tonight, and I've no problem with that. I'm sure Wenger will get the balance right between youth and experience.
Like many others, I am a little concerned as to our centre back situation. I'm sure Wengers claims that there are no centre backs available are just a decoy and he has something lined up. I'd be surprised if he signed someone like Samba, purely because Samba isn't a footballer. He won't pass the ball to Cesc or Wilshere, or start attacks. And that is what Arsene likes. All of his players are comfortable on the ball. Samba can defend, no question of that, but he can't play football. You may disagree, and that's fine, we're all entitled to our own opinions. But I am sure we will see a centre back come the 1st of February.
Oh, and Arsene, if you're reading, please no MATTHEW FUCKING UPSON.
Thanks for your time, I genuinely appreciate it!
I really think that we can be intimidated by leeds. I dont think that they beleive it either, its that they literally nothing else that they can say.
ReplyDeleteWe did manage to beat AC Milan, away, at the San Siro in the CL 2-0. so i think we can handle the 'pressure' that the leeds fans are going to give us.
i hope we see a great performance tonight. mostly because its on tv so i can watch it but, seriously, if we cant muster up the will, neh, the heartfelt desire to win a cup, then i dont know.
sorry i meant we ,cant be intimidated'. need to proof read before posting!
