Offensively we let ourselves down

Morning all

Thankfully football is back. And we are back talking about what goes on the pitch.

Yesterday we drew 0-0 with Newcastle. Not a bad result. Of course you'd want to win but I genuinely think Newcastle will be tough to beat at St James Park.

The team was pretty much expected, with Walcott on the bench and Arshavin and Gervinho flanking Robin van Persie, who skippered the side. Koscielny and Vermaelen were at the back alongside Tottenham target Bacary Sagna and Kieran Gibbs. Tomas Rosicky, Alex Song and Aaron Ramsey were the midfielders.

We controlled the game without really going anywhere. We had some chances, but none that really scream out ''that should be a goal'' and that for me was the main worry. It seemed as though once we reached the final third we ran out of ideas. That's why bringing in players to replace Cesc and Nasri is important. If we had a fit and happy Cesc in that team, I'm sure we would have won the game.

The sending off was a bit strange. And surprise surprise Joey Barton was in the thick of it. I've championed his case, and called for us to sign him many times. I would like to apologise for that. Although a good player, is too much of a cunt. I hope he ends up at Tottenham! I thought it was a penalty on Gervinho, albeit he went down a little too easy. Getting picked up by the throat from Joey Barton was never gonna go down well. It's nice to see a bit of fight from our new signing, although if you're going to hit someone, do it properly. I like how Joey Barton highlighted the fact Gervinho dived by erm, diving himself. Wanker.

That's all I've got to say about the game, we move on to Tuesday where we have a very tough game. Hope the support back the team and stay patient throughout the 90 minutes.

Enjoy your Sunday.
