So we have been drawn against...Barcelona. Shock! I think 95% of all gooners had a gut feeling we were going to be draw against the Catalans. And so be it. Let's be confident.
We have 10 weeks till we face them. Plenty of time to improve and tweak a few imperfections. Just hope we don't resign Silvestre in January!
Last season we got demolished at the Nou Camp. But the media seem to forget we were without RvP, Cesc, Arshavin, Song and Gallas. All key players for that team. So providing we keep them fit (!?) we are already better off.
We've no doubt got the players to defeat Barcelona over two legs. And maybe this is the game the players need to show they mean business worldwide.
Whatever the result, what a game for football. Two of the best attacking teams in world football, facing each other so early on in the competition. I can't wait!
If you look on NewsNow Arsenal, and find ''Cesc heart in Barcelona'' etc and other bullshit headlines, IGNORE THEM. I'm sure Arsenal will maintain a dignified silence throughout the build up.
But I have just heard quotes coming from Lionel Messi...
''It is heart-wrenching for me drawing Arsenal, my new team as of the summer of 2011. I know Xavi is in talks to sign with them too and he feels the same way as I do. When Xavi said he was destined to play with Cesc, he meant at Arsenal. And we both cannot wait to join the worlds greatest team - Arsenal!''
Well make of that what you will, but they are from a very reliable source!
Even though I wouldn't be too disheartened by a loss, I still obviously want us to win. What a monumental victory this would be. It could be the making of this team. Let it begin!
So we have Stoke and Shawcross at the Emirates tomorrow, let's intimidate that ugly fuck! This game has become sort of a rivalry now due to the hate of the fans, so let's make that known. Raise the atmosphere at the Grove and spur our boys on. Have a good weekend, and let's enjoy going back to the summit of the Premier League.
Thanks for reading.
